Newborn Boy Photography: It’s Baby Blue!
As a newborn photographer, I’ve done more than 100 sessions. And what they say is true? Kids look good is all colors. But of all the colors that suit a newborn baby boy, blue is at the top. If you have seen several of my blog posts, you’ll notice that I use a full range of colors, like that of Baby Remington, Baby Aiden (in green and brown), Baby Ryan (brown, earthy tones), and Baby Adrian.
It’s 4B: Blue for Backdrops, Backgrounds and Blankets
So it’s “B” all the way for newborn boy photography? Blue color for Backdrops. Blue for Background. And Blue for Blankets. That’s a simple and easy rule to remember. But caution, these are not to be combined together. Especially for light blue which contrasts really well with both darker colors and earthy tones like brown. Check out Sebastian’s photos below. To show you the difference between a photo with blue background and other, I’ve added some extras as well.
Please share your thoughts in the comments. What do you think? Do you agree that blue, with a contrasting color, looks really good for newborn boy photography?
Here’s an idea. Try dark blue colored hats with light blue blankets. It’s an awesome combination.

A different color combination of the “Neopolitan cap” – what do you think of the term by the way?
Another example of white going perfectly with light blue, especially if newborn has such a calm and angelic face
White, by itself, also goes really well with all colors but especially with light blue
Brown – dark or light (like sand) – is another color that goes really well with light blue.
Putting colors aside for a second, love the expressions in this photo

Another example of the “Neapolitan ice cream caps”! The pose is nice too, right? 🙂
These colored caps remind me of the Neapolitan ice cream 🙂
